A Trip to Cottlesville

This past week I went with a friend of mine, Terri, and her two little ones out to her hometown in outport Newfoundland. Both of our husbands were away and it makes the long days and nights of looking after little kids by yourself a little easier when you have good company! We left on Monday and came back on Friday evening. Here are some pictures from our trip.

At a train on display in Lewisporte-- there are no trains running in Newfoundland anymore!

Huge snowplow!

Trying to get all four looking is a bit of a challenge (ages almost 1, 2.5, 3.5 and almost 2- my kids a year ago were almost exactly the same age as these two are now, they are 19 months apart as well :)

 Stopping for squid rings- yum!

in the playhouse at Terri's parents' house!

Claus children were not so sure about the boat..

Going up to the lighthouse in Twillingate

Going on a little hike

Another hike around Pot Cove Pond with the kids, half boardwalk and then the big trail up to this gazebo overlooking the ocean

Bronwen's first time fishing...

And first fish! A tomcod (young cod). She also caught 4 more little connors. Lots of hungry little fish at the end of the wharf, great for the kids.

Ice cream even though it was cold

Grumpy because Terri was distracting him from going on the wharf while the girls fished

Roadside picnic on the way home

Using the van to its full carseat potential!
