the last day of the year

Well, I am up making cinnamon raisin bread for my dear husband.. giving him a chance to sleep in as long as he possibly can. Before we got married, he was really good at sleeping in. I would anxiously wait until we could hang out on Saturday mornings. Then, we got married and I was really wiggly and restless in the mornings. I did get better at sleeping in. But late pregnancy is conducive to restlessness, and my mind is in overdrive and I'm thinking about lots of things. So I got up early this morning, and Brian can sleep in as much as he can. This will probably be a very rare occasion for a while... a quiet house in the mornings.

It is December 31 and the baby is not here yet. Sometimes, I think it's funny when people ask me that question' "No baby yet?". Mmm, well I did give birth at least a week ago, but we decided to keep/him or her an absolute secret from everyone and I prefer to walk around with a basketball under my shirt because I can't handle not feeling big and lumbering! We didn't really feel like telling anyone that the little person we have been waiting for for so long is finally here. Ha. No, I do appreciate people's kind concern... and what else do you say to a 9 month pregnant lady?

2011 is almost over. What a year! There has been so much that happened. I was pregnant for 9/12 months of it, so that of course was a big event. We went on an amazing holiday this summer and covered many miles. Had both sets of parents come and visit us. I visited Ontario for 3 weeks and one of my best friends got married. We moved to a new house. All sorts of things. Maybe I should do one of those year in pictures posts... hmmmm.

I am thankful for many, many blessings in 2011 and so excited for 2012. And what better way to start a new year than with a new baby?!
