The name game

So this little one is due to arrive in plus/ minus ten weeks and we are contemplating what to name him or her.

It seems to be quite a responsibility. Your name follows you around every day, all day, for the rest of your life.
Some people seem to dislike their names... most people seem to be quite indifferent. After all, we don't really have a lot of choice, and we never know any different.

would like to avoid this sort of scenario (anonymous internet baby, by the way)
We have a couple of 'finalists' right now. They are top secret.... some parts of me are dying to ask for advice/ feedback, but this is something that Brian and I should decide on our own without outside influence. Plus, I am all about surprises.

Still, I am wide open to suggestions!

Hillarious picture Jenny!!The name game is tricky. I don't really have any suggestions but do want to say you don't have to include my name, if it's a girl.I think adding grandparents names is not necessary.Maybe you pick a few names and decide at the birth what suits them best.

Hey Jen!
Picking names... Fun!
I would avoid names that will spell something else (e.g. Alan Stephen Simon) and probably any Christmas related names too seeing the cool last name you have (Holly, Emmanuel,...)
That's my input from a world away and not knowing what your top contenders are.
I'm forever grateful to my aunt who made fun of the name my parents had picked (Nancy France. Thanks, mom and dad), so sometimes outside input is good. We've also had a couple of 'baby no-name's in the family. That's also always entertaining.

Oh for fun! I can just imagine us having these long conversations about possible baby names if I only lived closer... For some reason I picture you naming your baby with classic biblical names, like Sarah or Rachel or or Luke or Caleb. I'm sure that you kids will find the perfect name :)
